John Deere Grain Harvest Weight Sharing puts the grain cart weight on the combine operator's screen, the tractor's screen and everyone's phone — live, while you are unloading. Here is what it takes, what usually goes wrong, and who to call when it does.

Your grain cart already knows what it is carrying. Weight sharing takes that number off the cart and puts it in front of everybody else on the crew at the same moment.
The combine operator sees how much room is left in the cart before committing to an unload. The cart driver sees the same number without looking at a phone. The truck driver knows what is coming. And the weights land in John Deere Operations Center, so nobody is writing tickets on the back of a receipt.
Two different things have to be true for it to work: your cart has to be able to send weight, and your John Deere equipment has to be set up to receive it. Most of the trouble people run into is on the sending side — which is the good news, because that side is ours.

Weights also show up in the Operations Center mobile app, so anyone on the crew can see the cart without being in a cab.
Nearly every weight-sharing call we take comes down to one of these three. All three are on the cart side, all three are quick to check, and none of them require touching the John Deere display. Rule them out first.
Trap one — the most common
There are two different data cables and they look like they do the same job. They do not. The P0060 is the scoreboard cable — it drives an LED display hanging on the cart. It cannot send data to a John Deere display, and no amount of troubleshooting on the monitor will change that.
Agrimatics states it plainly: “The P0060 cable, which is used for displaying weight on an LED scoreboard, will not transmit data to a John Deere display.”
If your setup has never worked — not once, not for a minute — check the cable before anything else. This is the single most common reason a new installation is dead on arrival.

You do not have to choose. Our P0100-Y Y cable replaces the separate scoreboard and weight-sharing cables and runs both off one Serial Link at the same time — the board on the cart and the weight on the Deere display, together. The mating cable on the John Deere end is supplied by John Deere.
Trap two
On the standard cable the Serial Link can talk to a scoreboard or it can send data, and it only does one at a time. Out of the box, or after a swap, it can easily be pointed at the wrong one. Everything else in the system can be perfect and you will still get nothing on the Deere screen.
FIX → In the Libra Harvest app: Devices tab → Serial Link → set Type to Data.Only an either/or if you are on the standard cable. On the P0100-Y Y cable above, the scoreboard and the Deere display both run at once.
Trap three
The Serial Link works with Libra Harvest. It does not work with the older, classic Libra Cart app. Both may be sitting on the same phone, and the classic app will happily show you weight on the cart while sending nothing to anybody.
If you have been running the same cart for a few seasons, this is worth thirty seconds of checking. Make sure Libra Harvest is installed, updated, and the one you are actually in.
FIX → Install or update Libra Harvest and pair through that app. Nothing is lost by switching.Do this part first and prove the weight is leaving the box before anyone climbs into the combine. Tick the steps off as you go — this page remembers where you left off.
Behind a front panel or inside the cab, out of the weather. Polarity on the power cable: white or red is positive, black is negative. A flashing light on the box means it has power. Do not power wash the electronics. If you are running an M0018, skip this step — the radio is already inside the weigh box.
Go to Settings → Grain Carts → Add Grain Cart and select both the weigh device and the Serial Link — people often select only one. Turn on Display Smoothing and give the cart a name. Pairing happens inside the app, not in your phone's Bluetooth settings.
On the Devices tab, open the Serial Link and change Type to Data. Set your weight units while you are in there. This is trap two from the previous section and it takes one tap.
The P0080 / P0081 data cable connects to the data port in the tractor cab. Route it so it is not pinched, walked on, or pulling on either connector — a cable or a plug end is the most common failure on any scale system, and this one is no different.
Before you go looking at the Deere display, make sure the Libra is showing a steady, correct weight on its own. A number that drifts, jumps, sticks on zero or reads in the hundreds of thousands is a cart problem, not a weight-sharing problem — and sharing a wrong number helps nobody. If the weight is not right, stop here and call us.
These are John Deere's screens, on John Deere's equipment, and they change between display generations and software updates. We will tell you what we know; your John Deere dealer is the one who can put hands on it.

Worth knowing before you start
John Deere does not publish detailed installation or troubleshooting instructions for connecting third-party scale systems to their displays. That is not us being cagey — the information genuinely is not public, and it is the same for every grain cart scale brand, not just ours. John Deere does publish a setup video, and your dealer has the full documentation and can see your Operations Center account. When the problem is on their side of the wire, they are the fastest route to an answer.

It covers their end, not ours. The cart wiring, the cable and the Serial Link setting are not in it, so work through sections 02 and 03 first — that is where nearly every fault actually lives.
Work down this list in order. The first four are free, take minutes, and account for most of it.
Steps one through six are ours. If you have been through all of them and our box is putting out a good, steady weight, the problem has moved onto the Deere side of the connection and your dealer is the right call. Phone us anyway if you are not sure which side you are on — sorting that out is exactly the kind of call we are good at, and it costs you nothing.
