Everyday operation of the Digi-Star GT400 grain cart indicator. The four keys are Zero/Balance, Start/Stop, Field, and On/Off.

Turn on & zero

  • Press On/Off to turn it on.

  • Zero balance: press and hold Zero/Balance for 3 seconds. When the flashing arrow points to GROSS, it’s ready to weigh. For best accuracy, park on a level surface and let the reading stabilize before zeroing.

Loading & unloading

  1. Load the cart.

  2. Press Start/Stop to begin unloading — the display reads zero and arrows point to NET/Unload.

  3. Unload; the display shows the amount unloaded.

  4. Press Start/Stop when done — the amount is added to the accumulator and saved/printed (accumulator and print features require the Serial Option).

  5. The display then shows GROSS weight remaining.

Field ID

Stores a 6-character ID (field, truck, etc.). Press Field, use Field (scroll forward) and Zero/Balance (scroll backward) to pick characters, Start/Stop to move to the next position, and On/Off to save.

Turn off

Press and hold On/Off until “BYE” is displayed.

Error messages

  • OVRCAP — weight exceeds the capacity limit set in SETUP.

  • +RANGE — weight exceeds the maximum the system can measure.

  • -RANGE — weight is below the system minimum.

  • LO BAT / “RECHARGE BATTERY – TURNING OFF” — supply voltage dropped below 10.5 V. Charge the battery / check the power connection.

Run the self-test

Press and hold Field for 3 seconds until the LB symbol blinks, release, then press On/Off to start the self-test.

Getting into setup / calibration

Enter Long Form Setup by holding Field and On/Off together for 3 seconds. Use Field to advance menus (1, 2, 3, 4, CALIB, EXIT) and On/Off to select; Field changes a setting, On/Off saves and advances. Hold Start/Stop and press On/Off to return to normal operation.
