Use this page to troubleshoot your whole scale system — from the indicator, down the cable and junction box, to the weigh bars/load cells, and out to the cloud or app. Find the symptom that matches what you’re seeing and follow the steps. Each section links to a detailed guide.
How a scale system fits together: the weigh bars (load cells) sense the weight → the signal runs through a cable and junction box → the indicator shows the number → and (on Libra/Agrimatics systems) the reading syncs to the app and cloud. A problem anywhere in that chain shows up as a bad number, so it pays to work through it in order.
Before you start — the two checks that fix most calls
-
Moisture first. Water in a connector or junction box is the #1 cause of drifting, jumping, or negative readings — especially after rain. Unplug connectors and look for moisture or green corrosion, dry them out, and reseat them before anything else.
-
Isolate the problem. Most systems let you unplug the hitch bar separately from the axle bars. Unplugging one section at a time tells you whether the trouble is in a bar/cable or in the indicator.
1. Nothing on the display / won’t power on
-
Confirm power: check the battery connection, fuse/inline fuse, and that the power cable isn’t pinched or corroded. Most indicators run on 12V — a weak tractor battery or loose ground can cause no-power or random shutoffs.
-
Check the cable from the indicator to the junction box is fully seated on both ends.
-
If it still won’t power up, the indicator or power cable may need service — give us a call and we’ll help you sort it.
2. Reads wrong, drifts, jumps, won’t zero, or shows +Range / −Range
This is almost always down in the cable/junction box or the weigh bars — not the indicator.

5. Bluetooth won’t pair (Libra / Agrimatics)
-
Remove any old “Grain Cart” pairings from your phone’s Bluetooth first — stale pairings are the usual culprit — then re-pair in the Libra app. Make sure the app is up to date.
