My scale is reading wrong, drifting, or showing zero. Where do I start?
Work down the chain in order — indicator, then cables, then weigh bars, then the cloud. Most calls turn out to be moisture in a connector or a damaged cable rather than a failed weigh bar, so check those before you buy anything.

It started jumping around and will not zero after rain. What do I check?
Moisture first. Water in a connector or junction box is the most common cause of a scale that drifts, jumps, or refuses to zero after a wet night. Isolate the hitch from the axles and test cells individually before replacing anything.
How do I test a weigh bar before I install it?
There is a quick pressure test that needs no tools — it confirms a replacement bar works before you go to the trouble of installing it, and confirms the old bar is genuinely the problem.
How do I test a Weigh-Tronix weigh bar with a meter?

How is a farm scale system installed?

Why do you ask for a photo of my axle and hitch?
Spindle sizes vary between makes, model years and axle options, and the wrong bar does not fit. A photo of the axle and hitch lets us confirm the fit before anything ships, which saves a return and a week of your harvest.
What do 3-point, 4-point and 5-point mean?
The number is how many weighing points carry the machine — where the weigh bars sit under it. Which one your cart or mixer takes depends on the model and the axle setup, and it is the single biggest factor in which kit fits.
You do not need to work it out yourself. Send us the make, model and year plus a photo of the axle and hitch and we will tell you which system it takes.

How do I diagnose a Libra Cart weigh bar?
You can do most of it from the Libra Harvest app — reading the Display tab, the Devices tab and diagnostics, checking calibration, and knowing when it is time to pull the bar.
How do I run a scoreboard display off my Libra Cart?

Can Libra Cart share weights with my John Deere display?
Yes — with the right components and the cable that matches your display (Gen 4, G5/G5 Plus, or Universal). Two things worth knowing before you order: check with your John Deere dealer that weight sharing runs on your combine and display, and the cable that goes to the John Deere side comes from John Deere, not from us.
Do I need a Serial Link?
It depends on the head. An older Libra Cart needs the Serial Link to drive a scoreboard or share weights with John Deere. The M0018 has it built in, so it does not. If you are not sure which head you have, send us the model and serial number and we will tell you.
What is the difference between the Libra Cart models?
The important difference is the Serial Link. An older M0014 or M0016 needs the separate Serial Link to drive a scoreboard or share weights with John Deere. The M0018 has it built in, so it does not.
Warranty runs three years from the date designation in the serial number. If you are not sure which head you have — or whether it is still in warranty — send us the model and serial number and we will tell you before you order anything.
Can I run a scoreboard and John Deere weight sharing at the same time?
Yes, on either setup — it just changes what cables you need.
Keeping an older head: the Serial Link covers the module, the power, and one data cable, whichever direction you are going. Running both means adding the second cable plus the “Y” cable so the pair can run together.
On an M0018: the serial link is already in the head, so you buy the cables separately — one for the scoreboard, one for John Deere, plus the Y cable to run both.
Either way, the cable that plugs into the John Deere display comes from John Deere, not from us, and it varies by display.

Are your livestock scales certified or legal for trade?
No — and we would rather say so plainly. “Certified” means NTEP-approved and inspected and sealed by state weights and measures, which is what you need if you are going to buy or sell by that weight.
These are farm-management scales: sorting, tracking gain, dosing, knowing what left the field. That is what the great majority of our customers need. If you do need legal-for-trade, that is a different conversation and we are happy to have it.
How accurate are they?
Livestock scales read 99.75% standing still and 99.5% with the animals moving — so some variation on a restless animal is the scale working as designed, not a fault.
Portable platform scales run about 99.5% recessed and 99% portable on firm level ground with ramps and wheels.
Does a group livestock scale come with racks and gates?
Yes. Racks and gates are included in the price of a group scale, along with the deck, the indicator, the protector box and the cabling. You do not need to add them.
How does the Libra Cart trade-in work?
You pay full price up front and we ship right away, so you are not waiting. The credit is issued once your old unit reaches us. You have 30 days to send it back, return shipping is on you, and it has to arrive working — powering up and holding a charge.
The credit depends on whether the unit is still in warranty, and warranty runs three years from the date designation in the serial number. Send us the serial number and we will tell you which applies before you commit.
What does a scale kit cost?
It depends on the machine — the cart or mixer make and model, the axle configuration, and which indicator you want. Tell us what you are weighing and we will price it properly rather than guess.
Which indicator should I get?
Three cover most of what we fit. The Avery Weigh-Tronix 660 is the standard in-cab head — simple, bright, easy to read from the seat, weighs by the load and totals the day. The Tru-Test S3 is the equivalent on the livestock side. The Agrimatics Libra Cart replaces the head with your own phone or tablet, keeps loads by field and by truck, and will share weights with John Deere.
On a grain cart the weigh bars underneath are the same kit either way — the head is the only difference. So the question is really whether you want a dedicated display in the cab or your phone doing the work.
Will my kit be calibrated before it ships, and what comes with it?
Yes — every kit is calibrated to your specific cart before it leaves our shop, so it is not a job you inherit in the field.
A complete grain cart kit includes the spindle weigh bars, the hitch weigh bar and junction box, all mounting brackets, hardware and cabling, the indicator with its mount and 12V power cord, install instructions, and phone support from our shop while you are putting it on.
